About once a year I get to visit with this wonderful family. I've known them since Shannon was pregnant with Thea and it is so special getting to see the family grow. Nathan has matured into an adventurous yet sensitive boy, and Thea... well she had me laughing the whole shoot with her adorable ways.

I've know Gurpreet since highschool... er... elementary school?? Regardless, I've known him for many years, and I was SO THRILLED to get a message from him about shooting his wedding. I was even more thrilled to meet his beautiful fiance, Dimple, and hear their incredibly sweet love story.
We decided to start their engagement session at Trafalgars Bistro, where they had their first date. Then we continued on to Van Dusen Gardens where Gurpreet had a surprise up his sleeve...
Before the photoshoot, Gurpreet told me he had a surprise for Dimple. When he proposed, he gave her a diamond necklace, with the idea they could pick out her ring together. Since then, he has had the excuse of "so many wedding expenses", and the engagement ring would have to wait. Dimple was more than understanding. But the suprise was, he did in fact have the ring, and he was going to surprise her with it at the photo session (He planned to do this at the end, in case she cried and ruined her make-up. Yes, that is how thoughtful he is!). For the last shot he suggested a photo where he was proposing to her, and down on one knee he talked about his love for her, then pulled out the gorgeous ring. It was so neat to capture such a special, authentic reaction. I love my job.
May has been a whirlwind of a month for me. Work and travel and amazing people coming into my world. Although I can't disclose any details, I can share some random images taken along the way!
I have had the honor of working with FBFA for at least 6 years now. I have seen them grow from a boutique art and design company to an international art consultancy firm. Farmboy Fine Arts is a Vancouver-based company that cultivates site-specific art collections for the hospitality, healthcare and corporate sectors. Constantly overwhelmed by their innovative design style, I am so proud to work with this team of incredibly genuine and talented people! Licensing my images with them has allowed me to showcase my work in literally hundreds of hotels around the world, something I am so grateful for!

In the last 4 months I have been on 10 planes, flying over the North Pacific Ocean, the North Atlantic and the Caribbean. I have been on 2 buses, both of which would not pass air care and were way over capacity. I rode on the back of a motor-bike through the Vietnamese countryside and on the front of a Asian cyclo through one of the busiest cities in the world. I floated on a boat down the Mekong Delta and wandered through temples over 1000 years old. I took a road trip to LA, I shot a wedding in Jamaica. And now I am home. With a bit of the wanderlust out of my system, I am happy to be in my own bed for awhile.
I have returned to trees overflowing with cherry blossoms and a sun that shines a bit warmer than when I left. I am excited for the summer ahead!

Warning, this is going to be a loooonnng post. I found it way too difficult to narrow down my favorite photos to share. So get your cup of tea and settle in to enjoy these shots of Aidon and Ella's wedding in Jamaica. This was a photographer's dream to shoot: the ocean created a simple palette of blues and greys, the late afternoon light was diffused and softened by the scattered clouds, there was a light breeze to keep everyone cool... and at least half of the guests went barefoot, including the bride! Oh, and did I mention it was crazy romantic??!!
Aidon & Ella, thank you for welcoming me into your circle. It was an incredible week of sun and sand and laughter. I can't tell you what an honor it was to share in this incredibly special day. Much love... xoxo
