Geoff & Nicole | Portrait

They showed me a painting of the pier where they met many years before, jumping off into the ocean to cool off on a hot summer day. The days when life seemed so much more simple. But even when the world got more complex with school and distance and work, they find themselves many years later, full of love, married and with a child on the way... and I guess it doesn't get much more simple than that.

Geoff and Nicole... you are such a beautiful couple with a truly special love... thank you for sharing an afternoon with me. I can't wait to meet the new addition... xoxo

Portrait | Andrew & Karlene

Before every photo shoot, I get butterflies... of excitement and anticipation about what is going to be created in coming together with the intent of capturing someone else's lives. It is a special exchange that takes place. They open their doors, welcoming me into their home, sharing themselves with me, and in return, I share what I see in them, the moments and details that make them and their love unique. Yesterday was no different as I drove down Highway 99 and turned onto a small farm road. Rustic barns, fields of green and rows of sunflowers lined the narrow road, and I began to get really excited to meet this couple for the first time. We had exchanged a couple of emails, but it was all arranged quite quickly because Karlene was due to have twins literally any day! We had to wait until after the weekend, at which point I received an email, "yup, I am still pregnant, so this is a good sign." I liked her already!

Andrew and Karlene, it was such a fun morning together. I cannot wait for part II of this session, when 2 becomes 4! Good luck and much love...

Portrait | Trevor and Jenn

There's just something about Jenn's style. Her wardrobe is always to die for, an attitude that is all about having fun and a laugh that could melt anyone. And apparently her style transcends to her home as well! Who else would put the new stainless steel fridge in the garage as the beer fridge and buy an old vintage one for their retro style kitchen because it is "better suited"? Or moreso, who would let her? And that's where Trevor comes in. He just gets her, and, I imagine, loves her more because of things like wanting a vintage fridge no matter how much electricity it uses! And then there's her infectious laugh and great smile and soft beauty that radiates even moreso while pregnant.

You've created a beautiful home filled with such love! What a blessed baby! I can't wait to meet her...   xo

Portrait | Cara

When I look back at photos of Cara and I as children, we either have the same hairstyle (except when my brother played hairdresser) or we are wearing the same outfit (thanks Grandma!). As we got older, I think it started to bother her, but I secretly loved buying the same clothes as my city, styled-out cousin. But one thing is for sure, growing up alongside this beautiful woman has made me a better person in so many ways. I cherish our visits as children, and I hold our friendship we have today even closer. I am so excited to welcome this baby into our family!

Since I technically haven't gotten permission to post any photos of her, I will only show this one of her perfect, beautiful belly :)

And this super cute one...
