Be Yourself

Without a doubt, the best photos are captured when you are able to relax and be yourself. Ultimately, I want to capture my clients with no walls, no guards... I want to capture the nuances and gestures that make them unique.  The way a couple holds hands, the look in a father's eyes as he gives away his daughter, the way one laughs and the affect it has on others. I want to capture you being you.

My favorite sessions are those where my clients are open and have fun, where they are committed to getting the type of photos they've always wanted. Alex and Shan were the perfect example of this. They were relaxed, they felt comfortable being themselves and were open in their love for each other, which created a beautiful energy that radiated in every photo. This is one of my favorite series of them from their wedding day... in the moment, beautiful and authentic... xoxo

Colin Bullock

I first heard Colin Bullock up in Whistler at the Mallard Lounge. The waiter informed us that there would be entertainment starting soon and we might not want to sit so close to the front. We looked at the piano in the corner and decided to stay in the comfortable loungers, expecting a quiet serenade. We were slightly surprised when Colin walked in, shaggy blond hair, plaid shirt and jeans, with his acoustic guitar and harmonica. For his 2 hour set, I barely spoke a word, completely in awe of the sound he created. His covers were incredible, his own music even better. From Australia, he's here to make is mark... I'd say he's doing a pretty amazing job so far.

Colin is almost finished recording his new album, Color in life...

K'naan

I think a private concert with any singer is an incredible experience, but this one really blew me away. Although his latest album, Troubadour, is "an absolute epic", it doesn't compare to hearing him perform live. K'naan's voice, raw and soulful, draws you in. His lyrics talk of struggle, perseverance, disappointment, heartbreak... life... but it's his sincerity that really touches you.

One of my favorites. Thank you for such an inspiring evening... xoxo

Geoff & Nicole | Portrait

They showed me a painting of the pier where they met many years before, jumping off into the ocean to cool off on a hot summer day. The days when life seemed so much more simple. But even when the world got more complex with school and distance and work, they find themselves many years later, full of love, married and with a child on the way... and I guess it doesn't get much more simple than that.

Geoff and Nicole... you are such a beautiful couple with a truly special love... thank you for sharing an afternoon with me. I can't wait to meet the new addition... xoxo
