Michelle...

Looking through some photos from the summer, I came across this one of Michelle. Sometimes, a photo that I once overlooked can grab me at another point in time. Perhaps it's my mood, perhaps I just see something different. I love this one, in part because, to me, it really captures Michelle... her lightness and softness that permeates into her soul.

I remember this shoot well. At this point we were walking through a field on Bowen Island, the long grass just starting to glow in the summer evening light. These are the moments when my heart skips a beat, because so many things have come together to make the moment so very special. This is also why I love working with natural light... when you are surrounded by such beauty in nature, it slows you down and puts you be in a better place to really see the shot... to feel the shot. That is when magic happens... although I know the studio has its place, to me, natural light is always king.

And just when I thought wedding season was over...

In these scenes, Stephanie is marrying her fiance, Christopher, in an intimate beach wedding and a reception to follow. Their first song they dance to is one of Mike's, that Stephanie helped him record.
