Make it your own... part 2

Chris & Cristi had their intimate wedding in Kauai. The details were simple yet striking. Bright, tropical flowers and an aisle made from orchids. Not to mention an open air restaurant overlooking the ocean where dinner was served to close friends and family. And the bride and groom... absolutely stunning.

Will & Alana Now this was a wedding to remember. A three day affair at Shawnigan Lake filled with tennis and swimming, buffet lunches and evening dancing. Surprise musicians at the end of the ceremony and a reception hall transformed into a crystal wonderland were just a few of the details that made this such a unique day.

Nick & Arli The sun shone brightly on this beautiful Fall day, making the ceremony at Van Deusen Gardens that much more spectacular. The reception was filled with so many personal touches, including tiers of cupcakes that were to die for. The speeches were both humorous and sentimental, the food so very tasty, and the dancing went into the morning hours.

Shaun & Kim Set in the picturesque Mayan Riviera, the wedding ceremony was absolutely gorgeous, taking place on a sandy beach on the Caribbean Ocean. Purple bridesmaid dresses and pastel roses, sandals and sunglasses, and a reception under palm trees and a starry night. Incredible.

Kaua'i = a slice of paradise

There is more than 50 miles of beaches that ring the small island of Kaua’i. More than 400 inches of rain fall each year, giving it the name, “the Garden Island”. Rainbows. Rainforests. Whales. Waterfalls. Kaua’i is one of my favorite Hawaiian Islands.

I think what I really love is the overall tropical feel. The warm, humid air, that gives your skin a healthy glow, the lush sugar cane that grows along the narrow roads, the light turquoise waters… the way time slows down and nothing else really matters.

I have been loving my hotel, the Marriot Beach Resort situated in a beautiful bay that lets in just enough swell for some longboarding but is calm enough for standup paddleboarding. The hotel’s décor is gorgeous, a bit colonial, a bit classic Hawaiian. Between the coy fish pond, the winding garden paths through red ginger, bird of paradise and plumeria, and the gorgeous beach out front, this hotel is highly recommended!

Hawaii Re-visited

Yesterday I was catching up with a good friend from Hawaii. Feeling nostalgic for this incredible chain of islands, I dug out some randoms from trips passed. Happy Friday!

Sitting in lawn chairs in the back of the trucks is somehow legal here. A little bit scary on the nighways...

Is this a pro in the making, or what??

The Mokes are one of the most beautiful places in the world!
