Surprise Bride

The last few days I was shooting an incredible wedding in the interior... unfortunately, it has to remain a secret for a little while. The bride was unconventional yet classic, the groom handsome and modern, the ceremony intimate. The vineyards, the lake breeze, the willow tree, the chilled prosecco... perfect. The day was perfect in every way, just as they are for each other.

It was an honor to share this day with you!

Stay tuned for the unveiling!

Portrait: Neal + Kelly

Neal and Kelly have been together for over 7 years, initially meeting at Douglas College. They have such a beautiful way together, as if each moment is wrapped in a special box and stored forever. The first time I met Neal was at SFU at least 10 years ago. We haven't seen each other in over 7, but it didn't feel like a day had passed. The clouds came in fast, and the sunny afternoon turned windy and gray. I didn't mind in the least, as the light softened and enhanced Kelly's beautiful features even moreso. But it did get quite cool, and with the last click of my shutter, big rain drops started falling from the sky. Perfect timing!

Thank you both for such a fun afternoon of reminiscing and laughter! Much love.

Adi + Mandana: Wedding Part 1

Adi and Mandana came from Dubai to have their ceremony in our beautiful city. It was a truly joyous celebration with lots of music, laughter, food and love. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Four Seasons, which was a spectacular venue.

It was my first Persian wedding, and I found it so interesting to learn about the wedding customs and traditions. At the ceremony, the bride and groom sat at a long table, each with their parents at their side. The "sofreh", or spread, layed out before them, is taken very seriously because what it contains is believed and hoped to be in the couple’s life and marriage. Amongst lavish flower bouquets were platters of sweets and pastries, a large mirror that is placed in front of the bride and groom to bring light and happiness into the future, a pomegranate for a joyous future and an egg for fertilty, in addition to many other symbolic items. Judging by this sofreh, Adi and Mandana are going to have an amazing future together!

 Stay tuned for Part 2...

Wedding: Angela + Thom

A big, wonderful, Greek wedding. Traditional with an unconventional twist, it was perfect in every way.

Angela and Thom are an amazing couple. It is mesmerizing to watch them together. The way they laugh, the way they look at each other, the way they love... it is captivating. A testament to this incredibly genuine, caring couple were the hundreds of family and friends that traveled far and wide to come and celebrate this day.

I wish you laughter and sunshine and love for your new life as a married couple! Sending you wishes and looking forward to our next visit!
