I am so excited to share this beautiful shoot we did in Italy this Fall at Masseria Moroseta. Teaming up with Solstice Bride, we brought over some gorgeous Alexandra Grecco gowns, which were a perfect compliment to the modern lines and the white palette of Masseria Moroseta. Check out the shoot here along with all the awesome vendors...

Nataly & Matt | Romantic Ballroom Wedding at Hotel Vancouver

I don't normally like to book more than a year in advance, but I definitely made an exception for this couple. They stole my heart from the first meeting, and over the next year and half, we found any excuse to get together. So when the wedding day finally arrived, I felt like I got to share the day with my friends, which made it that much more special. Add some incredible vendors that brought Nataly's vision to life, including the insane amount of thoughtful details sprinkled throughout the day (she even scheduled in a brunch for all the vendors, who does that???), and the day was pretty much as perfect as it gets. I could go on about this couple, how incredibly thoughtful and special they are, but I think I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

So much love to you, Nataly and Matt. xoxo

Reconnect

It's been over a week since I looked at a calendar, which for me, being a type A scheduler, is quite a feat. In fact, we were flying across the International Date Line for NYE, and our new year began in a completely different hemisphere. It was important to us to start the year off with strong minds, committed hearts, and renewed intentions that will help lay the foundation for creating a prosperous year. So we decided a month in Bali would be the best place to achieve that. This past year was one of the busiest of our lives - greeting the newest constellation to our family, Maximillian, travel to Europe, Mexico and Asia, our wedding, moving homes, and working with incredible clients around the world doing what we love. But first and foremost comes family - which brings me back to Bali. This month will be about reconnecting this little unit. About making time for real conversations with my husband (new parents, you will understand this point), and having our son experience life as a family, instead of just one of us at a time. It's also about taking those moments for ourselves to tap into that space that gives us peace. This morning I awoke to waves crashing and birds chirping, a sliver of a moon fading into the pink and orange sunrise. Sitting outside, I took a moment to breathe and stretch, to reconnect with my body and mind. In that moment, I could feel my body begin its healing, my mind begin to settle. I am reminded of how important it is for me to experience that. I am reminded of so many things that I have put off this past year. I am excited for this next month of reconnecting and exploring, but moreso, I am excited for this life ahead. I am filled with so much gratitude for all the people and moments responsible for helping me shape the world that surrounds me today. I know the power lays within me... and that is everything.

I'm going to check out (as much as a type A can) for a moment, so I can fully be with my family, however I will still make time to reply to client emails (please give me a days grace in this regard!). I look forward to meeting and working with all the new couples coming into my world! I hope you all can take the necessary time to reconnect with whatever part of your world you need to in this moment, and start this year off in a beautiful space. Much love to you all xoxo.

Becky & Tom | A 13th Century Estate in Mallorca

I've always loved shooting destination weddings, and this was no exception. The couple, Becky and Tom, are from London, and chose a 13th Century Estate, Son Termens, on the exotic Spanish Island of Mallorca for their wedding. Becky wanted it to feel like a lavish garden wedding, and Alago Events did just that. The intimate ceremony took place under a lush canopy of trees, and afterwards, the festivities continued with refreshments and tapas in the front courtyard. Being from North America where our dress is somewhat more conservative, I loved photographing the eclectic Londoners and their fashionable attire. It was a feast for my eyes (and lens!). As the sun set, guests were invited into the inner courtyard, where Alago Events had hung lights, birdcages and single blooms above the flower laden tables, creating a beautiful glow that lit up the old stone walls, warming the guest while they ate a traditional Spanish meal.

I think what I love most about destination weddings is that everyone is on a holiday, which creates an extra celebratory energy that permeates throughout the day. Everyone is just a wee bit more carefree, which as a photographer, lends itself to some great imagery.

It was an honor to share in this beautiful celebration at such a spectacular venue with such lovely people. On top of that, we got to experience the special island of Mallorca... I hope to return soon! Much love to you, Becky and Tom! May the rest of your days together be filled with as much joy as this spectacular day at Son Termens!
